The ITS 2001 web site contains papers and abstracts from the International Tsunami Symposium 2001 (ITS 2001) and the U.S. National Tsunami Mitigation Program Review (USNTMP), held in Seattle, Washington, USA, on 7–10 August 2001.
In order to read the papers, you will need to have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed, preferably version 5.0. The Acrobat Reader is free to download from the Adobe web site at //http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html. By clicking on the "Papers and Abstracts (PDF)" link in the left panel of this page, you will see a list of all the papers. To view a paper, simply click on the highlighted paper number at the beginning of each listing. If you wish to download a copy of the PDF file, you may do so by right-clicking on the link (on the PC) and choosing "Save Link As" (in Netscape), or "Save Target As" (in MS Internet Explorer). On the Mac, click and hold the mouse button to get the menu that allows you to "Save Link As." You may also click on the "Author Index" link in the left panel of this page to see a list of all the authors who submitted papers or abstracts to ITS 2001.
The PDF files on this site may be viewed and printed; the ability to make changes to the PDF file (through the full version of Adobe Acrobat) or to highlight and copy text is disabled.
Please note that many papers were written in English as a second language. Though papers were edited for spelling, grammar, and style and format consistency, these papers have not been peer reviewed, and responsibility for the scientific content of these papers rests upon the authors.
